Here we have got shots form a scene and matched them to what we thought was 'match on action, 180 degree rule and Eye-line match.'
The shot-reverse shot was portrayed as when the two characters are talking for a while and the shots are the same and so it seems to take a long time because there is a lot of the same shots.

Continuity Editing
The aim of continuity editing is to make the work for the editors seem invisible, that when an audience watch a television programme/film the editing is continuous and not noticeable. This helps get the viewer more involved within the TV programme.
180 degree rule has to be when to characters are facing each other and the camera angle can only move around the 180angle and not passed it. If it did break the rule then it would confuse the audience and it would have to explain it in another shot.
